Better late than never !!

I must apologise for not keeping up with my posts. I have been busier than ever. I have also been suffering with hay fever. Living in an orange grove is great. I love the smell of the orange blossom, however it does give me really bad hay fever. I tried to keep on top of it but I got a cold as well. Things just went down hill from there. I was just trying to make it through the week and to get all my jobs done. However I was in bed by friday afternoon because I was exhausted from coughing. I felt better today so I played around the house and did some jobs. I made some Rhubarb chutney for the next Koondrook Barham Farmer's market. Here it is :
The next thing I did was sit down and design a card for the invitation for my mum's 70th Birthday party. We are having a red and white theme so I thought the invitation should match. I used this owl stamp because I know my mum likes it. All I have to do now is get the tick of approval from my mum.
Better go. I want to get a good nights sleep. I have lots of things to do tomorrow. Cheers Nicky

Card 136

Well what a busy weekend it was. Juliana and I had success at the Farmer's market in Koondrook. It was a chilly day and we braved the cold winds to sell our wares. I sold out by 11.30. I could have sold more goodies. Juliana did well selling her lemon cordial, lemon and sugar hand scrub and lemon slice. Even though we nearly got blown away we had a good day. I must admit I am tired now and really looking forward to going to bed. I have heaps of school work to do. I don't think it will get done tonight.
Tonight I have used the Aviary stamp set to make this cheery card. I love the expression on the owl's face. I have used the new polka dot DSP. It is lovely and bright. I am still a few cards behind on my goal of a card a night. I will have to make up for it in the next couple of weeks. Good night.

Saturday Update

Well I finally made it back to the computer so I could let you all know what I have been up to. As you know I was away in Griffith on thursday night for work. Last night I was at the Barham Show. We went in for tea and watched the fireworks. I went straight to bed when I got home. I was exhausted after not sleeping so well when I was away.
I spent today making things for Juliana's and my stall at the Koondrook Barham Farmer's Market tomorrow. We have decided to have a joint venture and enjoy the lovely atmosphere at this market. We won' be selling our cards and stamping stuff because we are not allowed. We have worked a way to make stamping part of what we are doing. Juliana has made some beautiful lemon cordial. She will be selling refreshing ice cold glasses of this as well as some beautifully decorated bottles to take home or use as gifts. I have done some baking. I have made lamingtons, chocolate walnut brownies, rhubarb slice, honey snaps, granola, rhubarb and apple jam and unfilled sponge cakes. It was a really busy day. We are hoping that people will buy what we have made. Here are some photos
Juliana even stamped our bags and doilies.

Here are some more gift tags I have made for the market stall. They feature one of the hostess stamps available in the new catalogue. There is a stamp for each season. The little bird is really cute. I have made several packages up to sell. I think they will look great on a present wrapped in red and white paper. Better go. Lots of school work to do tonight. Cheers Nicky

cards 130 and 131

Well I was very slack last night because I didn't post a card. I was invited to go out for dinner with some friends from the school I worked at last year. We had a great evening and many laughs. I didn't get home to later and thought It would be ok to do a couple of posts tonight instead. I worked on finishing the little gift cards I started the other night. I added some things to the DSP and then packaged the cards with an envelope. It think they look good. I am planning to sell them on my market stall.

Card 129

Just a quick little project tonight. I have used the Snow Festival DSP to make these cute little cards. They are a quick and simple project.
I am sick of the cold. I was hoping that the warm weather was here to stay but it is so cold. The fire is roaring. It feels like winter. This weather is not really helping my seeds grow. Hopefully it warms up a bit soon. Better go things to do. Cheers Nicky

I have just made some little Christmas tags tonight. I have used new ornament framelits and matching stamps. I thought it was a good way to use up some of my card stock scraps. A little bit fiddly to do but a good finished product. Enjoy Cheers Nicky

Project 127

I am a bit late tonight. We came in late from watering the veggie garden and feeding the chickens. Everything seems to be growing well at the moment. We have more rain forecast so it will be interesting to see how fast things grow. I have covered some more notebooks that I got from Typo. I have used coordinating papers and packaged them with a belly band. I think they would make a great gift.
I have to order some more glue and supplies from Stampin' Up. I have been using the glue stick. It is really good. Better go and do some work now. Cheers Nicky

Projects 123 and 124

We had a really cold and wet day up here today. Winter revisited us. Hopefully it was only for today. The rain was great for my new vegie garden. Hopefully a warm day tomorrow will make my new seedlings grow. I want to venture out tomorrow to work on my new vegie bins. I will take some photos so you can see how things are going. I must also take some photos of my baby goats so you can all see how much they have grown. I have to make some signs to advertise my little girl goats. They need to find new homes. I don't have enough feed in the paddock to keep them all.
Now to stamping I suppose. I have done some new notebooks. They are really like big cards I suppose. I am really happy with my designs tonight. I had a go at using the paper piercing tool and guides. It was a bit tricky. I found I needed to use a sticky note to keep the piercing mat in place. I think I will get better at it with more practise. Cheers Nicky

Projects 120 and 121

I must admit I was very slack last night. I shouldn't have sat down. I should have kept going then I wouldn't have fallen asleep. I do believe the key to getting everything done is to stay busy and not sit down. I haven't really achieved everything I wanted to do these holidays. I had a big list of jobs to get done around the house and I haven't done many of them. However I do feel rested and rejuvenated and ready to tackle another term.
I have three things to show you tonight. I have covered some more of the composition notebooks I got from Officeworks. Here they are:
I think they look great. They would make a great gift for someone who appreciates home made gifts. I also wrapped some cakes of soap I purchased when I has in Melbourne. I used some brown wrapping paper I had. I embossed the paper first. It looks really effective. I added a simple oval shaped tag and some cloth string.Another simple but effective gift idea. Cheers Nicky

Card 119

A beautiful day here today. I spent some time out in the vegie patch planting some seedlings and seeds. I used my new markers to mark where I planted the seeds. Laurie helped organise some new wooden bins and manure for the next stage of the vegie garden. I intend to spend time out there tomorrow. I will post some photos for you to check out my progress. Elly was at tennis coaching today. She enjoyed it all except for the sunburn. She is there all week so I have lots of time to spend with Molly.
I used some paper from the festive paper stack in the new holiday catalogue. It really has some beautiful papers in it. I am not sure if my card is a success tonight. Let me know what you think. Cheers Nicky
