card 118

I made this card with my mum when I was visiting her last week. We saw a similar card on Mary Fish's blog and we thought we would have a go at making it. The flower framelits are great to use to make a card. You can use all the different framelits to cut all different size flowers for the card. It is easy to do and effective because the framelits cut so cleanly.
I was inspired to get out in the garden today. I have started to prepare the vegetable garden. My girls and I are going to plant some seeds. This led me to cut out some tags from some aluminium flashing I got from Bunnings. I used the bigshot and the two tags die to cut out the tags. I marked on the name of each of the plants I am going to grow. I am going to use them to mark out the seeds as we plant them. It is hard to see them in the photo. They are pretty plain, however they will do the job.

Card 117

Just a quick post tonight. I have just arrived home from having dinner at the pub for a friend's birthday. I made her this card today. I was going for the retro look. I don't know if I achieved it. A cute card anyway. Cheers Nicky

Home Again.

We finally made it home this evening. I never thought we would get here. We had to stop at Doncaster Shopping town and the Market Place in Bendigo. It was a long drive in the rain and traffic. It is nice to be home. We had a great time catching up with everyone and the girls loved visiting their nanny.
I didn't do a post last night because I was out having dinner with Mum and Sarah. We went to a chinese restaurant and share a beautiful banquet. It was a very pleasant evening. Tonight I am posting two Christmas projects we made when I was in Melbourne. They are similar to previous posts. I hope you like them. Cheers Nicky

Project 114

We are continuing to holiday in Melbourne at Mum's house. We have had a busy few days and really busy nights stamping and creating. Last night Sarah come over for dinner. We made quite a few things. We had a very amusing night. The first thing we made was the soap gift box. I got some soap from a soap factory. I thought these would make good gifts at Christmas time.
The next thing we made was the cover of this notepad. We had a go at using the diagonal score plate on the scoring tool. This was a little challenging for some. We used the Clockworks stamp set. We went on to make a Christmas card and a decoration.
It was an enjoyable night. Stamping is always more fun when you have your friends around. Cheers until tonight. Nicky

Card 113

Tonight Mum and I made these cute little gift cards using the storybook friends stamp set and flower framelits. The idea was just to make a little gift card to brighten up a gift. The framelits are great to use to make a shaped card. They will cut through two pieces of card. You just need to be careful where you place them so you still have a folded card. Cheers Nicky

Project 112

Mum and I have been working away to create a few new projects. It is very peaceful here because the girls are at Aunty Jane's house having a sleep over. Mum and I had a go at covering some notebooks and a notepad. We are happy with our results.
I will be back tomorrow night with some more projects. Cheers Nicky

Card 111

I am a bit late tonight. I have been busy packing bags and my stamping stuff to take to Melbourne tomorrow. I have used stamp sets called little friends and daydream medallions on tonight's card. I have done some hand colouring and used the new flower shaped framelits to make the flower shape. I have used yellow tonight. It is not a colour I use very often however I think it works well on this card.
We head off to Melbourne early tomorrow. I will keep you posted on all the things I make with my mum. Cheers Nicky

Card 110

I have made another Christmas card today. I did this because I wanted to try out the new ornament stamp set and framelits. I was also lucky enough to have some little helpers who wanted to make a Christmas card. The girls chose the colours and the stamps they thought we should all use on our card. I think they did an ok job with their design. I added a bow and a bit more bling to mine. The girls had fun and that is all that is important.
We have a busy day tomorrow. Elly has a party so Molly and I are going to Juliana's to do some stamping. We are both looking forward to it. I think Glenice and Pam will be there also so we are bound to have a laugh. Not long until we go down to Melbourne to visit my mum. The girls are counting down the sleeps. They are looking forward to having a sleepover at Aunty Jane's house. I am looking forward to catching up with everyone. I want to send a special hello to my friend Sarah. She has been unwell lately and it is great to hear that she is on the mend. I believe she reads my blog each day so I want to thank her for her support. I am looking forward to seeing her and going through the new catalogue with her. I know she and my mum will enjoy trying out some of the new stamp sets I have. Hopefully Juliana may be able to visit us when she is in Melbourne. It would be great to learn some more tricks from her. Anyway I'd better go and create. Cheers Nicky

Card 109

I thought I'd try my hand with some colouring in tonight. I have used the blender pens and ink pads to colour in this new stamp called Two by Two. I have made a smaller sized card using the pool party card stock. I think this card would be a lovely addition to a gift for a new baby boy. I am looking forward to the next two weeks of school holidays. I have plans to make lots of cards. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Cheers Nicky

Card 107

I am just sitting here listening to the lovely sound of rain and thinking how good it is for my garden and filling the tank. The holidays are approaching fast and I am just trying to make it through to the end of the week. It has been a busy term. I am looking forward to the break so I can try out all my new Stampin' Up stuff. I am going to Melbourne to visit mum so we will stamp every night. It is always enjoyable. I am also going to catch up with my friend Sarah and we will spend time stamping too.
Tonight I have used the Four Season Stamp set. This cute stamp set is a hostess stamp set you can buy with your hostess money you earn if you have a party that has $300 in sales. I have used the midnight muse card stock and the new illuminate stamp pad. It is just a quick little card to try out some new products. Better go and mount some of my new stamp sets. Cheers Nicky

Card 106

I had a lovely delivery at the post office for me today. It was all my new stuff I ordered from Stampin' Up. I got some of the new stamp sets. I was getting sick of my old ones so I thought it was time to update the collection. Tonight I have used the new storey time friends DSP and Story book stamp set. I love these new products and I think I am going to have fun with them. I got some of the new Christmas stamps so no doubt I will be working on my Christmas cards. It is a shame that work interferes with my stamping!! Cheers Nicky

Cards 104 and 105

What a big weekend we had here in Barham. Dance concerts, school concerts and markets. It really was go go go. I was exhausted by the time got home last night so I didn't post a card. Tonight I have made two quick cards to make up for this. Here they are:
The dance concert was great. It was fantastic to see all the kids from school dancing. Elly and Molly did well too for their dances. Molly was most upset she didn't get an award. Elly is determined to keep trying so she might get an award next year. We are all going to enjoy the break from dance for a while. I may finally be able to have some time at home to create and do some house work too I guess.

Card 103

Well it has been a very busy weekend so far. Today was just crazy. I spent a lot of the day with my friend Trish who was helping me make sourdough bread. Students from my Commerce class are also helping because they are running a sourdough bread stall tomorrow at the Koondrook Barham Farmer's Market. We made about 100 loaves of bread. I have just got home from cooking them with Trish. We have decided that we will never do it again!!! Here is a photo of some of the sourdough bread we made.
I am going to go now. I have a big day tomorrow with the market and Molly and Elly's dance concert. Cheers Nicky

Card 102

Just a quick post tonight. I have just arrived home after Elly's school concert. It was great to see all the kids singing and dancing. I have posted a cute christmas card we made at Juliana's last weekend. We used the core'dinations paper. It feels lovely and soft. We also used the new sassy salutations stamp set. It is really funky. I am hoping to get some time tomorrow afternoon to make some more cards. Good bye until tomorrow night.

Project 101

I am a bit late tonight and I didn't think I would get a post done. My girls had dress rehearsal tonight for their dance concert. It is busy time with the school concert, dance concert and sourdough bread stall at the farmer's market on sunday. It always seems that everything is on at once. I managed to make a little christmas decoration with the new rosette die. It was just a quick effort to try out this new die. I think it is cute. I may have to make a whole lot of them for the christmas tree or a wreath.
I got my box of goodies today. I am really keen to try them out so I am going to say goodnight. Cheers Nicky

Project 100

Yeah Ha. I finally made it to 100 posts. This is a real achievement for me and I have really enjoyed writing my blog. There have only been a couple of times that I haven't posted but I have made up by having two projects the next day. I have a really great collection of cards now. I am planning to sell them at our Stampin' Up stall at the next Murrabit Market. Juliana and I will have lots of goodies for sale. We will also be giving out information about hosting a party or becoming a Stampin' Up demonstrator. So make sure you come and see as at the market.
Tonight I have made this cute little santa box using the petal cone die. I saw it at Juliana's place the other day and I worked out how to make it. I think he is very cute. I know Molly and Elly were very impressed with it. I now have to make them one. I am still waiting for my new lot of goodies to arrive. I can't wait to try out some of the new products. Will keep you posted. Cheers Nicky

Card 99

Tonight I have recreated a set of cards I saw pinned on pinterest. They features all of the colours in the new in colours. They also have the leaves from the Papaya Collage stamp set. I used the butterflies die and a new embossing folder. I think they would be lovely boxed up for a gift.
I'd better go and start work on the project for tomorrow night. Cheers Nicky

Card 98

Not long until I hit the big 100 mark. The time really has gone fast . I have enjoyed the challenge of trying to make and post a card each evening. Although I haven't always achieved this, I think I have done quite well. It has been good to see the number of hits on my blog growing. Tonight I have used the butterfly stamp from the Papaya Collage stamp set. It is a lovely stamp. I have also used the new in colours and small label punches for the greeting. I have used a bit of bling on the card to jazz it up. It is a simple and clean card.
I also want to share a card I made at Juliana's yesterday afternoon. It is a great design that she came up with. Juliana is so creative and she always has beautiful projects for us to make. So enjoy this card and have a great evening.

Card 97

I had a great out at Juliana's place today. We made some great projects and shared some tips and ideas. I came home feeling inspired to tackle a new challenge. Tonight I have had a go at creating a monochromatic card using masking to create a layered look. I am happy with my first attempt. It is obviously a skill I need to practise. I am keen to have another go at.
At Juliana's today we made three projects. I have included a photos of one of these projects tonight. It is a cute little christmas gift tag holder. A great idea and easy to make.

Card 95 and Project 96

I am so late tonight because my girls are having their friends stay over for their first sleep over. I finally found the time to make something. I spent some time with the girls today making a card. Here it is:
The girls chose the paper and the card stock. We decided to use the betsy's blossom stamp set. It was a simple design that the girls could easily do. While the girls were watching their movie I had a go at making a christmas decoration. I am still waiting for my ornament bundle to come so I thought I'd use the ornament punch. Despite the burns from the hot glue guns, it was really enjoyable to make.
I am going to a team day at Juliana's tomorrow. I am looking forward to making some new cards and projects. I will update you with what we made tomorrow night. Cheers Nicky

Card 94

A quick post tonight. I couldn't decide what paper to use so I didn't use any DSP. I have just used the Daydream Medallions stamp set and the pretty postage stamp. I have also used three of the new in colours. A very simple card tonight. Cheers Nicky

Cards 92 & 93

I didn't get to do a post last night because I was working late. Tonight I have made two new cards. I have pushed myself to use different colour combinations and the new DSP Comfort Cafe. I was really challenged by doing this, however I persisted to make two cards that I actually quite like.
Let me know what you think. Cheers Nicky

Card 91

I suppose it is hard to even think about Christmas at the moment when it seems so far away. I have decided to make a start of making Christmas cards because I want to be organised and not leave everything to the last minute. Tonight I have created a card using the DSP Be of good cheer. This is a really lovely set of papers from Stampin'Up. The colours are bright and cheerful. I think it is a great pack of paper to have for all sorts of Christmas projects. I have also used the Pennants Parade punch for the trees. I want to buy the stamp set that matches this punch. There are so many lovely new things to buy in the two catalogues. Make sure you check out the link to them on my blog. Cheers Nicky

Card 90

Tonight I wanted to have a go at using my sewing machine to decorate the paper on a card. I have seen this done before and thought it would be great to have a go at it. I also had the sewing machine out because I has taking up my girls new coloured jeans. Anyway I had a go at it and it was more difficult than I thought. I think it will take a bit of practise. The cards are really simple. Possibly a bit to plain. I think I will need to work on this idea more. Cheers Nicky

Cards 88 and 89

Well I was very slack last night and I didn't do a card or a post. Trouble was that I fell asleep on the couch. I was exhausted after a long week at work and I just sat down for a minute. I keep meaning to get up but my eyes wouldn't open. By the time I woke up I thought it was too late so I decided to do two cards in my next post, so here they are :
I thought I'd better start on getting some Christmas cards done. Trouble is I don't have a lot of Christmas greetings. I think I will remedy this by looking at the new seasonal catalogue and see what I need to buy in the line of Christmas stamps. Cheers Nicky
