The Next Challenge

It was my turn to set the next challenge. I had always wanted to have a go at creating a chalkboard card. Chalkboards are quite in fashion at the moment. There have been lots of samples on pinterest. So our next challenge was to create 3 chalkboard projects. Here is what I came up with :
It was not as easy as I thought. Trying to place the stamped images was tricky. I used the new Wildflower Meadow stamp, Papaya Collage and a single stamp that is no longer available.
I used basic black cardstock and whisper white craft ink. Before I stamped I rubbed the embossing buddy over the black card to make it look dusty like a blackboard.
You can visit my shop to purchase these stamp sets. Click here.
So now I wait for Juliana to set the next challenge. I wonder what it will be ??

Let the challenge begin

As you all probably know I am really good friends with Juliana Main from Juliana's Obsessions. She is responsible for signing me up to Stampin' Up and starting my addiction. We decided that we needed to a bit of motivation to get creative so Juliana came up with the idea of having a challenge. The first challenge was to make make 3 different items using some of the new Seasons of Style Designer Series paper from both the pack and the stack.
So obviously we had a Christmas theme going on. We thought this would be a good way to introduce the new Holiday Catalogue.
Click here to see this new catalogue online.
So we both got to work. Here are the cards that I made :
I am happy with what I created. If you would like to purchase any of these papers click here to go to my shop.
I'd love to know what you think of my cards. Please leave me a comment.

First Birthday Card

Tomorrow it is a the first Birthday of a special little girl. My girls and I are going to visit her after school. We will watch her enjoy her first Birthday cake. I made this flip card for her first Birthday. I think it looks really cute. I especially love the Strawberry Slush cardstock and the silver glimmer paper. I used my new Shilouette Cameo cutting machine to cut out the card. It makes it so easy. I hope she likes the card and has a great first birthday.

Just a quick one ....

I found this pattern for this cute card. It sort of looks like patchwork. It reminds me of this cushion my mum made called Cathedral Windows. I used the DSP Epic Day This and That and the new Baked Brown Sugar card stock. Better go things to make. Cheers Nicky

Giving scrapbooking a go ...

Yesterday I was encouraged by a friend to give scrapbooking a go. I have never done it. I usually make cards and 3D projects. Anyway I thought I might as well take up the challenge, considering I have all the equipment. It was also an excuse to use my new Shilouette Cameo digital cutting machine. So here are the first pages I have made. Let me know what you think.
I used the Designer Series Paper called Storytime from Stampin'Up. This paper is not available anymore, however I still love it. The stamp set Storybook Friends is still available.
If you would like a free tutorial to make the following card, email me and I will send the tutorial to you.

Boxes in new Stampin' Up 2013 - 2015 in colours
The new 2013-2015 in colours.
I have used the stamp set Serene Shilouettes on these boxes. I stamped in the matching in colour and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I used the stamp set Gorgeous Grunge to add the splotches to give the boxes a bit of character. Finally I added a couple of tickets for a bit of decoration. I used the That's the Ticket stamp set on the matching ticket punch.

Papaya Collage

As I was flicking through the new Stampin' Up catalogue I found this lovely card that features the Papaya Collage stamp set. Mum and I made this card. We had to mask off areas of the card and stamp with colours we wouldn't normally use. The real card has stitching on it. We just punched holes and used a marker to make it look like sewing. It was a very enjoyable project and quite challenging.

Back again !!

I thought it was about time that I actually got back to working on my blog. I have been inspired to stamp again. I have just spent the last few days with my mum and we had a great time stamping. I thought I would share some of our creations with you. As you can see from my new picture I have cleaned up my workspace. My husband Laurie made me some shelves for all my stamp sets. My workspace is now so easy to work in. Tonight I will share two cards with you. Let me know what you think. Any feedback would be appreciated.
